The Coca-Cola Games have long been a beacon for emerging talent in Fiji, showcasing the prowess of young athletes across the nation. Among the standout performers in recent years are individuals whose dedication and achievements have left an indelible mark on the sporting landscape.
VishantVeron Reddy
Dominance on the Track
- 2022: Reddy set the Nadi Zone records in the intermediate 800m and 1500m with times of 2:06 and 4:25, respectively. He also clinched double gold in both events at the national finals with a time of 2.03 seconds and 4 min 18 seconds respectively.
- 2023: Elevating to the senior division, Reddy secured gold in the 1500m and 3000m at the Coca-Cola Games.
- 2023 South Pacific Games: Representing Fiji, he earned a bronze medal in the 800m with a time of 1:51, placed fourth in the 1500m with a personal best of 3:57, and added a silver medal in the 4 × 400m relay, further showcasing his range and team spirit.
Ryan David - Consistency in Junior Middle-Distance
Ryan David showcased his talent in the junior 800m category at the 2024 Coca-Cola Games, earning a bronze medal.
- His upward trajectory continued with a silver medal in the 800m Under-16 category at the Oceania Championship, solidifying his position as a promising young middle-distance runner.
Miliakere - Strength in Field Events
Representing Korovuto College, Miliakere has been a consistent performer in field events:
- 2022: Secured bronze in the sub-junior javelin at the Coca-Cola Games.
- 2023: Continued her medal streak with a bronze in the junior shot put.
Cokes 2025 - A Learning Experience
- A team of dedicated 16 athletes and 3 teachers and Apakuki’s mum represented the College
- ApakukiRadiva and Akanisi won their 400m heats and qualified for the finals
- Apakuki came second in 200m Heats and 5th in the Final of 400m
- Upcoming athlete EfremoKalaugata came 6th in the 800m Finals
- Eleni Finished 4th in the long jump event.
QelevukiTaleqea - A Rising Middle-Distance Star
In the 2024 Coca-Cola Games, QelevukiTaleqea emerged victorious in the 800m, securing gold with a commendable time of 2:02.
- At the Oceania Athletics Championship, Qelevuki also earned gold in the 4 × 400m relay in the Open Men’s category, proving his growing regional impact.
Pritha Ram
Strategic Brilliance in Chess
- 2023: Clinched bronze in the women's division at the Rapid Chess Competition held at the University of Fiji.
- 2024: Elevated her performance to secure a silver medal in the same competition, reflectinher growth and strategic acumen in the game.
